The 14th Annual Momocrawl Breaks Records with 7000 Attendees

On September 13th, over 7,000 food lovers from all five boroughs poured into Jackson Heights, eager to sample tasty Himalayan momos from over 30 local restaurants participating in the 14th Annual Momocrawl. This year’s Momocrawl carried extra significance, with a portion of proceeds going to support relief efforts for the recent Nepal-Tibet border floods, a tragedy that claimed hundreds of lives and displaced thousands.
As a founding sponsor, we’ve loved watching this event grow year after year. This 14th Annual Momocrawl, one again organized by Students for a Free Tibet, was a huge success, not only introducing food lovers to Himalayan cuisine and Jackson Heights businesses, but also putting the neighborhood on the map as a destination people return to long after the event ends.
We were especially honored to be joined by NYC Small Business Services Commissioner Kenny Minaya; NYC Mom & Pop Czar Delia Awusi; Council Member Steven Raga; and Tseyang Tenzin of the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, who presented us with a poster from their neighborhood map series illustrating the Little Bhod-Tibet Immigrant Enclave!
