Growing Human Capital Equals More Success

by Yankie Tshering

There are many ways we measure success at BCNA. The first and most important metric is the number of New Yorkers we’ve successfully helped as they’ve started – or built – a business, bought a home, built credit, or saved for college. But another important way we measure success is by our human capital: how we’ve grown as an organization and added capacity and expertise through growing our staff.

We are therefore very pleased to announce that we have added 3 very talented new people to our growing BCNA team, each of whom brings importance experience, skills, and dedication to our mission.

Ervin Gega has joined us as a Supervising Senior Loan Officer, based in our Jackson Heights office. He will be concentrating on structuring larger loans for our clients who are growing and need larger lines of credit. He started his career in retail banking, small business and consumer lending, and community outreach efforts and has extensive experience in credit building, consumer and commercial underwriting and risk management, and drafting credit policy.  Ervin adds Italian and Albanian to the list of over a dozen languages our staff speaks.

Nicole Adler joins us as Manager of Development and Communications in our Downtown Manhattan office. Nicole is experienced in nonprofit development, having worked at several impact investment funds and organizations as a Program Specialist in the health care sector, and as a Development Specialist for a private, market intelligence platform for impact investors. We are excited that she will now be focused on growing BCNA’s scope and impact. She speaks English and conversational Chinese.

And last but not least, Robert Evans has joined BCNA as a Development & Data Associate, helping senior staff members in our Manhattan office manage loan documentation, update client data, and track and analyze the performance of loans. He has a strong background in community development, having worked with AmeriCorps, Habitat for Humanity, and for two sports-based Youth Development non-profits, one in New York and one in France. Robert speaks fluent English, Spanish, and French and has studied Arabic, Kichwa, and Hindi.

Please join us in welcoming Ervin, Nicole, and Robert and say hello when you stop by!
