MD Khalilur Rahman is a successful entrepreneur in the food service sector and owns multiple businesses in the Parkchester neighborhood in the Bronx, including Khalil Biryani House, a fine dining restaurant, and a catering kitchen. He recently expanded to a second borough, opening Khalil Biryani Houses in Jamaica and Jackson Heights, Queens.
An immigrant from Bangladesh, his passion is to serve authentic flavors from his country with influences from across Asia. He trained at the Institute of Culinary Education, the top-ranked culinary school in the U.S., and has a bachelor’s degree from Jersey City College and a Master’s from Dhaka University, the most prestigious university in Bangladesh.
Mr. Rahman gives back to his community with the Khalil Food Foundation, which provides free food service and kitchen training to students and recent arrivals from Bangladesh, as well as donating food to worthy causes.
